Air New Zealand has begun recommencing services, after the ash cloud plume from the eruption of Mount Tongariro on the North Island of New Zealand caused the airline to adjust flight routes and schedules.Services to Rotorua have returned to normal operations, while Taupo and Gisborne airports remain affected.Both airports continue to experience delays and cancellations but are expected to make a return to regular operations as the day progresses.Air New Zealand has been in communication with the Civil Aviation Authority, the MetService and other relevant authorities in order to remain up-to-date with the ash movements and forecasts.  “The airline is working with the relevant authorities to safely make adjustments to flight routes to ensure aircraft remain clear of any ash and keep providing a safe service to the travelling public,” Air New Zealand general manager airline operations and safety David Morgan said.
