But apart from Inishowen, Cope has polled much better in other Donegal constituencies including Letterkenny and Glenties.Gallagher told Donegal Daily that he is “hopeful” he can retain his MEP status.He said that people should not read into the high tally of Inishowen is being given to Sinn Fein Matt Carthy as an overall indication of how the vote is going.“It is very early days yet but I am hopeful judging by RTE’s exit poll which puts me on 11% that I can retain the Fianna Fail seat. “That would put me ahead of the other Fianna Fail candidate Thomas Byrne.
