Categories: Letters to the Editor, OpinionI’m confused with mixed messages on TV commercials. I see a car sales ad with a woman talking to her kids telling them to behave in the backseat and an attorney’s ad urging people to sue for distracted driving.I see someone putting a pizza on the roof of their car. I watch movies where guys/gals freak when they find bees, spiders and other animals in their cars. Guys will turn their heads to look at pretty girls, electronic billboard signs, flashing lights like in Vegas, etc., which I consider all to be distractions for driving. I see people falling asleep behind the wheel. People fall asleep in church, in the classroom, on the job. Is that intentional? It’s just a part of life. I understand how horrible accidents are. They are accidents. Somebody got hurt on both sides. Both sides need healing and prayers. So how is this helpful? Is this the only answer, to sue? What else can we do?Michael SargalisDelansonMore from The Daily Gazette:Schenectady County warns of possible COVID-19 exposure at Schenectady restaurant, Rotterdam barEDITORIAL: Beware of voter intimidationEDITORIAL: Urgent: Today is the last day to complete the censusEDITORIAL: Thruway tax unfair to working motoristsFoss: Should main downtown branch of the Schenectady County Public Library reopen?
