Shannon-Heathrow service resumes

first_imgAER Lingus will resume its service between Shannon and Heathrow from today. The service was withdrawn in controversy in January of last year. The decision led to uproar in the region in August 2007, when the airline announced it was dropping the service and moving the important Heathrow slots to Belfast.A campaign was launched within the business and tourism sectors in an attempt to persuade the company to reverse its decision. In late December 2008 Aer Lingus announced it would resume the service. The first Shannon to Heathrow flight will take off this evening and from tomorrow there will be two flights daily.People in the region are being asked to support the reinstated service, which it is claimed is critical for business and tourism growth in the west and mid-west. On ‘sick note Britain’

first_imgSmartly dressed, neatly bearded and with a digestive system to die for, Dr Allinson fired off pearls of wisdom as regularly as his bowels. Our nation of work dodgers – a rising percentage of which cannot even drag themselves out of bed in the mornings – should heed the following advice: go skinny dipping. On ‘sick note Britain’: “A daily swim acts as a tonic to the system generally, while the action of the sun and air on the naked skin is very invigorating. Even the most delicate may begin to have a sponge-down with cold water every morning. Those whose lives are chiefly spent in offices should get up early and have a swim before breakfast.”last_img read more

While this makes total sense, we happen to love hearts all year long — especially during the holiday season! Fun, festive cheer is what this time of year is all about, so why not reflect that mood with our fashion choices?- Advertisement – This knit sweater is super lightweight and thin, and an ideal layering piece. We suggest wearing a cami underneath when it’s brisk out, and throwing on a bomber jacket, scarf and beanie when it’s seriously frigid. In terms of design, it has a loose and long fit with subtle distressing along the hem and ends of the sleeves. But don’t let that deter you — it’s not too trendy, it has just the right touch of edge to balance out the romantic vibes. This sweater is currently available in numerous color combinations. You can choose one of the options adorned with classic red hearts or go for something a little less traditional, like the white or black hearts. Each garment is made in the same style, so it all comes down to which shade will look best. See it!- Advertisement –last_img read more
